JURISDICTION OF THE AGENCY
is an administrative organization within the Ministry of civil affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the identification documents, storage, personalization and transport of documents, and maintenance of central registers and data exchange between the competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. IDDEEA cooperates with the competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as resource authorities, and with other authorities using services of the Agency.

Preparation of strategy and policy
The Agency is initiator for proposing, preparing and implementing strategy and policy of development in the field of identification documents, which is completely focused on meeting international standards. Our efforts are focused on achieving and maintaining high levels of compliance with international standards, including but not limited to ICAO 9303 (standards for machine reading of documents), ISO 9001 (quality management system) and ISO 27001 (information security management system). As the main implementers of these standards, we pay special attention and apply them in our daily work, at the same time ensuring the absolute quality, reliability and recognition of identification documents of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Procurement and personalization of documents
The Agency is responsible for the procurement, storage, personalization, quality control and transport of identification documents for the competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The procurement of forms of identification documents implies that the documents are made of prescribed materials and comply with the highest standards applied in the European Union and that they are continuously available, so that the process of issuance of personal documents in BiH runs smoothly. Personalization of identification documents includes entering individual data and characteristics on each personal document. IDDEEA’s responsibility is monitoring and strict quality control, ensuring that each document meets compliance and security standards, as well as adequate capacities for their storage. The Agency coordinates the transport and distribution of identification documents to competent authorities in different regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which implies efficient logistics and organization, so that each document reaches its destination safely and within the legally stipulated time frame.
MAINTENANCE OF REGISTERS AND DATA BASE
Maintaining registers and managing databases of personal documents is an inevitable step in the modern business environment. The Agency is in charge of the technical design and creating of registers defined by law through technology integration, adaptation to user needs and commitment to security, as well as maintenance and management of databases containing information from these registers. Digital signing:
IDDEEA, as an authority in the field of identification documents, plays a key role in the development and application of digital signatures throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Coresponding to legal and regulatory requirements, the Agency is dedicated to the field of electronic signatures, and by applying the standards and procedures from the Law on Electronic Signatures of BiH, it provides the legal basis for a secure and legitimate electronic signature. In addition to the legal aspect, IDDEEA invests significant resources in the development of technological means and procedures that ensure safe and efficient digital signing. The Agency is particularly focused on creating conditions for qualified digital certificates, having acquired the status of a certification body. Such certificates enable safe use of electronic services and are integrated into various aspects of electronic identification. As a result of this hard work, qualified digital certificates enable safer use of existing electronic solutions and create a platform for the development of new electronic services. The BiH electronic identity card, which carries these qualified digital certificates, becomes a secure and recognized electronic form of identity, enabling users to use a digital signature in various fields and electronic transactions.
