Seafarer's passports and maritime ID cards
The seafarer’s passport is a personal identification document. It is a form of personal identification that serves as a public document of the bearer’s identity, capacity to board inland navigation ships (vessels registered and trained for navigation on rivers, canals, and lakes), length of time spent in shipping, capacity to maintain good health, and professional qualification to carry out specific tasks on inland navigation vessels.
The maritime ID card is a personal identification document. It has the meaning of a public document that proves the identity, the capacity in which they were admitted as crew members of a seagoing ship (a vessel registered and trained for maritime navigation), the length of their maritime service, their physical fitness, and their professional suitability for carrying out specific tasks on a seagoing ship.
The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH) is responsible for issuing and maintaining these important documents, assuring the integrity and reliability of maritime operations and crews.
