Smart tachograh is the second generation of digital tachograph (GEN2) which was introduced by Regulation (EU) 165/2014 of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union of 4 February 2014 on tachographs in road traffic.

The card is issued upon request for the period up to five years.

The competent authority issues a decision on the issuance or refusal of the request for issuance of the card.

Personalization and technical processing of cards and maintenance of registers of personalized cards is carried out by the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA).

Personalized card shall be delivered at the competent authority where the request for its issuance is submitted.
