France Supports the Development of IDDEEA’s Digitalisation

The Ambassador of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kevin Thuillier, visited the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), where he met with the Director of the Agency, Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević, and his associates to discuss opportunities for future cooperation and projects that the Embassy of France could support, particularly in the areas of digitalisation, border control, and the enhancement of security capacities.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Thuillier particularly emphasised the importance of IDDEEA’s role in the electoral process, especially in ensuring reliable data on citizens’ identities, which provide an important foundation for the accuracy and integrity of the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Director Badnjević briefed the Ambassador on the Agency’s current activities, achievements, and challenges in carrying out its responsibilities. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of digital services, electronic data exchange, and the further improvement of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s digital infrastructure.

The Ambassador expressed his support for IDDEEA’s work and acknowledged the importance of the digitalisation processes that the Agency continues to develop, as well as its role in modernising public administration. The meeting also addressed opportunities for concrete support from French partners, the exchange of professional expertise, and the launch of projects of mutual interest.

The visit paved the way for further strengthening cooperation between IDDEEA and the Embassy of France, with a focus on concrete initiatives that could contribute to improving digital services, security, and the efficiency of institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
