IDDEEA

UN SDG

The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH) plays a key role in Bosnia and Herzegovina in achieving several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

SDG 1: No poverty

By ensuring valid registration and availability of identification documents, the Agency contributes to reduction of poverty by enabling access to public services. By providing data from the registers under IDDEEA’s jurisdiction, social institutions are enabled to provide assistance to citizens faster and more efficiently.

SDG 5: Gender equality

Agency supports gender equality by ensuring the access to identification documents for all citizens, regardless of gender. The Agency promotes collection and distribution of data on gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure

The data exchange enabled by the Agency supports the development of infrastructure and innovation in the management of identification and registration. Providing electronic signature to citizens and developing the digitization of services represent innovative approaches that support the development of infrastructure and technology.

SDG 10: Reduced inequalities

By providing services of issuing identification documents and keeping accurate records, the Agency contributes to the reduction of social inequalities in access to important documents. Providing electronic signature can make the access to digital services easier for citizens, including those living in remote areas, thereby reducing digital inequalities.

SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions

The Agency contributes to formation of strong institutions within Bosnia and Herzegovina through the management of identification documents and registers, thus supporting justice and the rule of law. Also, the electronic signature contributes to the strengthening of legal institutions, increasing reliability and security in digital transactions.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals

Digitization of services and the provision of electronic signature can encourage partnerships between the government, the private sector and civil society in achieving sustainable development.

It is important to note that the Agency has a key role in forming the basic prerequisites for achieving a wider range of UN Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to stability, justice, and social inclusion in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Through these activities, the Agency contributes to the modernization of society, increases the efficiency of services and supports the transition towards a digital society, which can have a positive impact on the achievement of certain sustainable development goals in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
