IDDEEA and the Health Insurance Fund of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Signed an Agreement: Acceleration of Business Processes

To enhance its modern and effective operations, the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Health Insurance Fund of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton signed an important agreement. In this regard, the enhancement of e-government services (SDG 7) of the EU Digital Strategy, is supported by both institutions.

Data from the registers that the Agency keeps and technically maintains is accessible through the Agreement on Permanent Access to the Receiving Authority Data through the Web Service. The Fund is required to use the accessed data within the legal framework to carry out the activity within the scope of its legitimate interests.

According to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Law on Health Insurance, mandatory health insurance guarantees the realization of the right to medical care and other forms of insurance within the health insurance framework, for which the Health Insurance Fund keeps records based on the personal information of insured individuals.

Establishing this level of cooperation and communication with the IDDEEA can result in more efficient work for the Fund, lowering the costs and time required to undertake business activities. Furthermore, the integration of these systems contributes to the accomplishment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (EU SDGs), particularly in terms of health care and access to basic health services.
