EU Priorities

As Bosnia and Herzegovina prepares to join the European Union, the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange plays a critical role in assuring conformity with the EU’s special integration priorities for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The strategic alignment of the Agency with these goals is focused on the implementation of international standards for digital identity management and data protection. This entails systematically adjusting processes and technologies to satisfy EU digital identification standards, which are a critical need for EU membership.

IDDEEA plays an important role in completing seven of the EU priorities placed before Bosnia and Herzegovina:

1. Elections in compliance with European standards:
The Agency actively participates and contributes to guaranteeing electoral openness by providing updated central electoral lists, assistance with electronic signatures for document verification, and electronic voter identification.

2. Coordination of EU issues:
As part of its responsibilities, the Agency provides support in the development of secure electronic systems for coordination among different levels of government, facilitating the exchange of data and information important to the creation of the national program for the adoption of the acquis.

3. Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee:
Agency active participation in the collection, exchange and provision of relevant data related to the stabilization and accession to the EU.

4. Improvement of the institutional framework:
A: The Agency provides support to secure exchange of information between different levels of government.
D: The Agency ensures secure electronic systems for judicial institutions.
G: The Agency develops and supports electronic solutions for the successful implementation of the acquis, with a focus on professionalism and the elimination of veto powers.

5. An environment favourable to reconciliation:
The Agency participates in the creation of electronic platforms for dialogue and information exchange that support the reconciliation process.

6. Improvement of the judiciary:
The Agency adjusts the electronic signature system in accordance with European standards, supporting the implementation of new laws on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council.

7. Fight against corruption and organized crime:
A, B, C, D: The Agency offers technical assistance for effective exchange of data and compliance with conflict of interest regulations.
E: The Agency is creating a system for monitoring progress in investigations and judicial proceedings.

Therefore, the Agency tailors its electronic systems to meet the individual needs of each priority.
