Three and a half years later, the European Parliament adopted a new Framework for European Digital Identity (eID). Mutual cross-border recognition of national electronic identification systems will enable citizens to identify themselves online and access services from other EU member states with a national e-ID card.

Eighteen years after the Law on Electronic Signatures was issued, IDDEEA BiH implemented a digital signature and made it available to the people of BiH for usage in all areas of business, following the example of other European nations. With that action, IDDEEA BiH enabled both physical and legal entities to collaborate with the relevant institutions. By implementing the aforementioned digital solutions, IDDEEA achieves key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), by providing an electronic signature service that represents innovative approaches to infrastructure and technology development. Furthermore, electronic signatures enhance legal institutions by improving reliability and security in digital transactions, which can stimulate collaboration between the government, the business community, and civil society to achieve sustainable development goals.

E-Identity is an e-service portal where you must register to access the different e-services offered by IDDEEA exclusively to physical entities. Following registration, an e-service for digital signing and adjusting digital signatures is made available. In compliance with the decision of the director of the Agency, a test phase of this service is presently underway, pending the establishment of suitable services by other institutions and the business community.
