The Director of IDDEEA BiH gave a lecture at the University in Rome and was designated a Visiting Professor

June 11, 2025, Rome – Today, Mr. Almir Badnjević, the Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), gave a professional lecture at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, one of the top engineering and medical technology universities in Europe.

The lecture, titled “AI Evidence-Based Management of Medical Devices”, was organised by the Department of Engineering within the research unit for intelligent health technologies. Presenting contemporary methods for artificial intelligence-based medical device administration and maintenance was the goal.

During the lecture, Badnjević covered a number of topics, including the use of sophisticated algorithms to improve the safety of medical equipment, the significance of predictive analytics, process optimisation in device servicing, and real-world examples from hospital systems. The potential of digital and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to transform medical device management and improve the effectiveness, security, and resilience of healthcare systems was highlighted.

In recognition of his contributions to the development of biomedical engineering, digital transformation, and the implementation of AI solutions in healthcare, Mr. Almir Badnjević was invited to become a visiting professor at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.

This is yet another international acknowledgement of both Director Badnjević’s work and IDDEEA’s role in promoting digital excellence, data management, and the use of AI in the public sector. The Agency remains devoted to building skills and knowledge, as well as working with international organisations and academic communities.
