The Ambassador of Sweden to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Helena Lagerlöf, together with her associates, visited the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA). Ambassador Lagerlöf was accompanied by the Director of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, who briefly presented the company’s activities in the field of digitalization in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The Director of the Agency, Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević, expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Lagerlöf for her visit and for Sweden’s continued support to the Agency and the digital transformation processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the meeting, Director Badnjević presented the Agency’s current activities and the challenges it faces in its daily work.
The discussion highlighted the crucial role of the Agency in the digital transformation of public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina — a process that the Embassy of Sweden has continuously supported through various projects and initiatives. The upcoming election process in Bosnia and Herzegovina was also discussed, emphasizing the importance of IDDEEA’s role in ensuring the availability of data vital for the transparency and regularity of elections.
The Director’s Advisor, Ilija Trninić, presented a Catalogue of Potential Projects, whose implementation would further enhance the Agency’s operations and accelerate processes in the areas of digital identification and electronic services.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to continue cooperation and joint efforts to strengthen digital capacities and modernize public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
