OHR Delegation Visits IDDEEA BiH

A delegation from the Office of the High Representative (OHR), led by Principal Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor Mr. Louis Crishock, along with the current head of the OHR Banja Luka office, Ambassador Laszlo Markusz, visited the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) today.

The delegation was greeted by Mr. Almir Badnjević, Director of IDDEEA, and Nermin Bećirbašić, who represented the Agency’s Legal Department.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the challenges faced by state institutions due to the delayed adoption of the national budget and how this affects the uninterrupted execution of institutional mandates. The discussions also addressed the preparations and technical prerequisites for the upcoming 2026 general elections.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need for ongoing institutional and international support for IDDEEA in order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of systems vital to citizens across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Director Badnjević expressed gratitude to the OHR delegation for their visit and interest in the Agency’s work, underscoring that strong partnerships with international institutions are essential for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of the country’s identification and data exchange systems.
