At its session held on November 5, 2025, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) adopted conclusions related to the introduction of the qualified electronic signature in the judiciary of BiH. The conclusions provide guidelines for all judges, prosecutors, and members of the HJPC BiH to obtain their personal qualified electronic signature, with the aim of facilitating and expediting the process of verifying the assets and interests of judicial office holders.
In cooperation with the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA), mobile teams of the Agency will visit judicial institutions across BiH to simplify the activation process of qualified electronic signatures for all employees in the judiciary. The implementation process will take place from November 2025 to March 2026, with prior scheduling of visits to ensure maximum efficiency.
The first representative of a judicial institution to activate his qualified electronic signature was the President of the HJPC BiH, Sanin Bogunić, who did so at the premises of the IDDEEA Agency, in the presence of the Agency’s Director, Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević. By doing so, President Bogunić set an example for all citizens and symbolically marked the beginning of the digital transformation of the judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This represents an important step toward increasing the efficiency and transparency of the judicial system and ensuring secure and reliable data exchange
