IDDEEA Director keynote speaker on AI to all European National Olympic Committees

The Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA), Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević, who is also a member of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) for digitalization and artificial intelligence, served as a keynote speaker from October 2–4 in Malta, addressing representatives of all European National Olympic Committees.

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Badnjević outlined the opportunities and challenges of applying artificial intelligence (AI) in the work of National Olympic Committees (NOCs), with a special focus on administration, finance, logistics, planning of sports activities, as well as privacy protection and ethics in the use of new technologies.

“AI is not a replacement for humans – it is a tool that, when used responsibly and transparently, can bring significant value to both athletes and the institutions that support them. Our task is to build a system based on knowledge, ethics, and trust,” emphasized Prof. Dr. Badnjević in his address.

His lecture attracted significant attention and sparked interest among NOCs across Europe for practical AI applications in sports and sports management. At the same time, it represents another international recognition of the expertise and leading role of Bosnia and Herzegovina in digital transformation and innovation.
