The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) has officially launched the e-IDDEEA mobile application, now available to all citizens and institutions across the country. The agency is calling on all levels of government, public institutions, and the private sector to adopt the app as the official platform for digital identification, authentication, and electronic document signing.
The e-IDDEEA app, developed by IDDEEA, is free to use on both mobile and desktop devices. It enables registered users—citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who have activated their qualified electronic signature at one of IDDEEA’s registration offices in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Bihać, Bijeljina, or Mostar—to instantly access a wide range of digital services.
With legal validity, the app allows users to electronically sign documents, view personal records such as ID cards, passports, and driving licences; track the status of document issuance; check fines (including traffic or tax-related); and access vehicle information. IDDEEA has announced that new features will continue to be added.
Institutions and organisations have already been introduced to the app’s technical and legal framework. Among the key benefits are improved process efficiency through digitalisation, secure and legally recognised user authentication, and seamless system integration via API.
For citizens, the advantages are clear: the app eliminates the need for in-person visits to government offices, allowing users to sign documents and access services from anywhere, 24/7, using their smartphone or computer—saving both time and money.
Since June 1, 2024, IDDEEA has also begun embedding a digital representation certificate into newly issued ID cards during the personalisation process. This feature simplifies access to e-services via ID card readers, with the necessary software available for download on IDDEEA’s website.
