Director of IDDEEA BiH, Mr. Almir Badnjević, Awarded World’s Highest Honor in Biomedical Engineering – FIUPESM Title

The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA) has announced that its Director, Mr. Almir Badnjević, has been named a Fellow of the International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM). This distinction grants him the prestigious FIUPESM title—widely regarded as the highest global recognition in the field of biomedical engineering.

The FIUPESM title is awarded for exceptional contributions to the advancement of physical and engineering sciences in medicine at the international level. It is reserved exclusively for individuals whose scientific and professional work has had a lasting global impact. No higher academic or professional title exists in the field of biomedical engineering.

The IUPESM serves as the leading global organisation in this domain and was founded by the world’s two foremost associations: the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and the International Organisation for Medical Physics (IOMP). It is also a full member of the International Science Council.

The election of Mr. Badnjević as a FIUPESM Fellow is not only a significant personal achievement and a testament to his longstanding scientific contributions but also a milestone for Bosnia and Herzegovina—marking the first time a national expert has received this title.

IDDEEA BiH expressed pride in having a globally recognised expert at its helm and congratulated Mr. Badnjević on this historic accomplishment, which underscores the Agency’s commitment to knowledge, international standards, and excellence in serving the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
