Director of IDDEEA BiH Completed UN-Singapore Cyber Fellowship Programme

The Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA BiH) proudly informs the public that the Director of the Agency, Mr. Almir Badnjević, has successfully completed the prestigious UN–Singapore Cyber Fellowship Programme, officially earning the title of a UN Cyber Fellow.

The programme was organised from May 13 to 17, 2025, in Singapore by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) and the Government of Singapore. It brought together 25 carefully selected participants from around the world – exclusively government officials with key roles in cybersecurity, digital policy, and ICT diplomacy.

During the training, participants underwent an intensive curriculum covering:

  • Development of national cybersecurity strategies and protection of critical infrastructure
  • International legal and diplomatic processes in cyberspace under the auspices of the UN
  • Application of artificial intelligence in the cyber domain
  • Incident management and crisis communication
  • Case studies and simulations of attacks on critical systems

Upon completion of the programme, Mr. Badnjević received an official UN Cyber Fellow certificate, further confirming his international recognition and the critical role of IDDEEA BiH in the field of digital security.

The director emphasised that the acquired knowledge will be immediately applied to benefit Bosnia and Herzegovina—through proposals for drafting initial versions of the Cybersecurity Law, a National Cybersecurity Strategy, and a legal framework for artificial intelligence, all aligned with EU practices and UN recommendations.

This accomplishment demonstrates once more the critical role that IDDEEA BiH plays in promoting digital transformation and strengthening cyber resilience in the country, thereby establishing Bosnia and Herzegovina as a proactive player in international technology and security processes.
