According to the latest updated list by Stanford University and Elsevier publishing house, which includes the Top 2% most-cited scientists in the world for 2024, 13 scientists from Bosnia and Herzegovina have made the list.
Among them, once again, is Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević, Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), reaffirming his significant contribution to science, research, and digital transformation.
The “Top 2%” list is based on the analysis of the Scopus database and bibliometric indicators, representing one of the most relevant international recognitions for scientists worldwide. Its inclusion reflects the continuity and global impact of scientific work, clearly showing that Bosnia and Herzegovina has scientists who actively follow and shape global scientific trends.
“This recognition is not only personal but also a confirmation that Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the knowledge of its people, has the strength and capacity to be recognized globally. Science and knowledge are the most secure path toward building our country,” stated Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević.
The IDDEEA BiH expresses pride that its Director, in addition to leading an institution of national importance, continues to achieve internationally recognized results in scientific research, thereby contributing both to the academic community and to the global development of digital and health technologies.
