Director Badnjević Named Fellow of Prestigious Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA)

Almir Badnjević, Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), has been appointed as a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA)—one of the world’s most prestigious organisations dedicated to the advancement and application of artificial intelligence.

AAIA brings together leading global experts and academics in the field of AI, including researchers from top institutions such as MIT, Stanford, Oxford, and the University of Tokyo, as well as scientists from major tech giants like Google, Microsoft, IBM, and Huawei. Being named a Fellow within this elite circle is a significant international recognition of Mr. Badnjević’s scientific contributions.

The honor reflects years of research and leadership in biomedical engineering, AI applications in medicine, and the digital transformation of institutions. Mr. Badnjević is among the most cited scientists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a member of several international academies of science, and a recognised authority in the fields of digital identity and e-governance.

His appointment as an AAIA Fellow also puts Bosnia and Herzegovina firmly on the global map of innovation and artificial intelligence, highlighting the country’s growing presence in cutting-edge science and technology.
